It's not quite Coors Field, but the New York Mets will be playing at a hitter-friendly ball yard tonight -- that being Globe Life Park -- as they take on Texas Rangers righty Dillon Gee in a matchup that sees them sporting a 5.14 implied total.
Gee has looked good through two appearances this year, but that's only been 6 2/3 innings -- not exactly a reliable sample size, especially when you consider his 4.30, 4.41 and 4.60 SIERA's over the past three seasons. Left-handed hitters, in particular, gave him fits last year, beating up on him to the tune of a .357 wOBA, which makes this an especially good matchup for Michael Conforto.
Conforto is raking in 2017, with a .426 wOBA and .320 ISO through 205 plate appearances. He also boasts a hefty 46.4% hard-hit rate against right-handed pitching, bringing his career-average to a 43.1% with a 42.1% fly-ball rate.
