FanDuel Price: $3,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Paul Goldschmidt is doing Paul Goldschmidt things again, racking up 9.0-plus FanDuel points in eight of his last nine games, including an absurd 18.0-plus points in five of those contests. His high floor combined with a massive ceiling are sure to make him a popular play, as the Arizona Diamondbacks return home.
While Eric Thames has crushed a ton of homers this year, June has been unkind to the Milwaukee Brewers slugger. He's hitting only .136 this month, and his price has dipped way down as a result.
Why You Should Use Him:
Despite the slump, there are plenty of reasons to be bullish about Thames.
Playing tonight in Chase Field will certainly help Thames bust out of his slump -- over the last three seasons, the Diamondbacks home park ranks third in park factor and seventh in home run factor.
It'll also help that he faces Randall Delgado While Delgado has been effective this season primarily as a reliever, his career starting numbers leave much to be desired.
Over 274 2/3 innings pitched as a starter, he's allowed a .330 wOBA and a 4.23 xFIP. Left-handers have caused Delgado some specific problems. While they've only logged a 27.5% hard-hit rate, they've coupled that with a 38.6% fly-ball rate over his career.
Combine the park factor with a pitcher who's fared badly as a starter, and Thames could be in for a big night at an affordable price point.
