FanDuel Price: $9,300
Well, that's didn't take long. After a promising second start of the season against the Baltimore Orioles (49 FanDuel points), things were looking up for David Price. Of course, as you undoubtedly know, it didn't last long, as what would follow is a blowup with the Boston media a few days later and a shellacking by the New York Yankees (9 FanDuel points).
Price has had a tenuous relationship with the media since arriving in Boston, and while we pride ourselves on the numbers at numberFire, it's fair to wonder whether this will be an ongoing issue. Between that and the questionable health of his arm, it's hard to know where he is both mentally and physically.
As for said numbers, he does get a plum matchup against the lowly Philadelphia Phillies, who have an 84 wRC+ against lefties, and while it's supposed to be hot at Fenway again, there shouldn't be any wind blowing out tonight. Price has shown a promising 11.2% swinging-strike rate and 27.1% hard-hit rate through three starts.
Still, he also has a 4.68 SIERA, and despite the risks, you're not getting much of a discount at his salary. A wait-and-see approach is advised here.
