FanDuel Price: $3,100
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Daniel Murphy and his Washington Nationals buddies will try to pick up where they left off after the break. One of the best offenses in the league (second in team wOBA at .343) gets to take on Tim Adleman in Cincinnati. With a 32.4% hard-hit rate and a 44.9% fly-ball rate allowed for Adleman, Murphy could be a chalky play at second.
One not so obvious option is Whit Merrifield of the Kansas City Royals, who rank 26th in team wOBA at .305.
Why You Should Use Him:
Merrifield is officially locked into the leadoff spot, and facing lefty Martin Perez at home tonight could lead to lots of run-scoring opportunities.
For the season, Perez has allowed a 36.5% hard-hit rate and a 30.8% fly-ball rate to righties, including a .361 wOBA.
Lefty pitching at home is just what the Royals rookie specializes in. This season, he boasts an impressive .212 home ISO versus southpaws.
