The New York Yankees are sporting a 5.58 implied team total and are very much in play against Anibal Sanchez. But as one of the pricier shortstops, Didi Gregorius might be one Bronx Bombers stick you're better off leaving out.

Gregorius has been on quite the hot streak the past couple months -- or has he? Since the start of June, he's swatted 13 homers with a .233 isolated power (ISO) and .355 wOBA. What's not to like?

But the curious thing is he's done all of this with just a 22.0% hard-hit rate and .274 xwOBA. Rather than some newfound power stroke, it looks like his 17.8% home-run-to-fly-ball rate (HR/FB) over this span is more a stroke of good luck. Some regression should be in order.

Feel free to load up on the usual Yankee suspects, but Gregorius is far too expensive for consideration, even at the typically weaker shortstop position.
