4 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 8/17/17
The Rangers have the highest implied total on the main slate, and Joey Gallo offers elite upside. What other high-priced players should you target in daily fantasy on Thursday?

Joey Gallo, 1B, Texas Rangers

Price: $3,800

Thursday's main slate has a lot more appealing pitchers than it does offenses, and the Texas Rangers' 5.98 implied total is by far the slate's highest mark.

The Chicago White Sox are starting right-hander Reynaldo Lopez, who posted a 4.55 SIERA in 11 games in his first year in the majors in 2016 and a 5.04 SIERA in his first start of 2017. He has allowed a 36.4% hard-hit rate to left-handed bats in his young big-league career.

Few hitters have been smacking baseballs the way Joey Gallo has in the past couple weeks, and he ranks fourth in both average exit velocity and average batted-ball distance among the 345 hitters with at least 10 batted balls in the past 15 days. He has a .374 wOBA and .378 ISO on a 45.5% hard-hit rate and 59.1% fly-ball rate against right-handed pitching this season, and he offers some killer upside against Lopez.
