FanDuel Price: $3,500
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Leading a Chicago Cubs offense that is starting to heat up, Anthony Rizzo is sure to be a chalky play at first base. He gets to travel to Great American Ballpark, which is rather friendly to hitters, and he takes aim at Asher Wojciechowski. In Rizzo's last six games, he's posted 19.0-plus FanDuel points four times.
Slumping a bit lately, Matt Carpenter of the St. Louis Cardinals could be a bit underowned at first base.
Why You Should Use Him:
August has been a tough month for the Cardinals first baseman (.747 OPS), but a road tilt for Jhoulys Chacin could be just the remedy to get Carp back on track.
We know Chacin is brilliant at Petco -- he's posted a microscopic 1.86 ERA there this season -- but his 6.90 road ERA leaves a lot to be desired. A closer look shows that he's getting lit up by lefties on the road, too. When he's not pitching in San Diego, he's allowing 2.48 homers per nine innings off the strength of a 3.6% hard-hit rate in this situation.
Despite Carpenter's recent struggles, he's posted a 47.8% fly-ball rate and 38.3% hard-hit rate this month, and is reasonably priced as a leadoff hitter.
