Fantasy Baseball: 4 Pitchers to Stream for Week 23
Mike Clevinger's inconsistent role in the Cleveland rotation has kept his fantasy ownership low despite some excellent results, but the young righty is in a nice spot this week as he faces the White Sox.

Mike Clevinger, Cleveland Indians

Start: September 7th at Chicago White Sox
ESPN ownership: 33 percent

Hard-throwing righty Mike Clevinger has all the makings of a fantasy breakout, with a 27.3% strikeout rate and tidy 3.50 ERA across 100-plus innings pitched this season, but his on-again, off-again role in the Cleveland Indians' rotation has understandably suppressed his standard-league ownership despite the excellent results.

Clevinger's 12.2% walk rate is nothing to brush aside, especially that dire 19.6% walk rate on his four-seam, though you could argue that some of this shaky command stems from his uneasiness with his shifting role. After all, his walk rate is down to a not-terrible 10.1% as a starter in the second half, whereas he's walked 4 of the 20 hitters he's faced as a reliever over that same span.

The young righty will get a chance to add to his recent resume of solid starting work (2.20 ERA over 16.1 innings) as he faces a tanking White Sox team whose league-low walk-to-strikeout rate in the second half should really play into Clevinger's strengths -- and perhaps hide his weaknesses.
