Greg Holland is still waiting for a team to scoop him up, and the St. Louis Cardinals appear to be the playoff contender most in need of an upgrade at the back of the bullpen.
Luke Gregerson was supposed to close to start the season, but a mild hamstring injury has left the job up for grabs, and even though the team said they are not "in a hurry" to sign Greg Holland, they should be. Holland saved 41 games and had a 3.61 ERA with the Colorado Rockies last year, with an ERA+ of 139. That latter numbers is important because it takes into account the fact he pitched his homes games in Coors Field.
At the first sign of bullpen trouble, the Cards may go get Holland, and he could end up leading the team in saves in 2018.
