3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 4/2/18
Mike Trout is a monster, but his matchup against righty-killer Mike Clevinger and Cleveland's superb bullpen makes him tough to stomach at his lofty price tag.

Charlie Morton, SP, Houston Astros

FanDuel Price: $8,500

Charlie Morton was a big reason the Houston Astros were able to win the World Series last year. His ability to make batters swing and miss makes him an attractive DFS target on most days.

However, Morton was far better against left-handed hitters than right-handed hitters last season. Right-handed batters posted a .345 wOBA and struck out 20.9% of the time last year against Morton. On the other hand, Morton was virtually unhittable against left-handers, striking them out 32.8% of the time and holding them to a minuscule .249 wOBA.

His opponent on Monday, the Baltimore Orioles, feature plenty of strong right-handed hitters, including Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Adam Jones, Trey Mancini, and Tim Beckham.

Morton will be a pitcher to target later in the season for his high strikeout upside -- and he has some GPP appeal today on a slate that's pretty weak when it comes to arms -- but his reverse splits make him a bit scary against the O's in cash games.
