3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 4/6/18
Jose Altuve is one of the best hitters in the game, but he's not worth paying up for against a pitcher who quietly throttles production of right-handed bats.

Trevor Williams, SP, Pittsburgh Pirates

FanDuel Price: $6,400

Trevor Williams and his perfect 0.00 ERA may seem like an attractive target in what appears to be a good matchup against the Cincinnati Reds. However, there are two major flaws with the reasoning required to use Williams. First of all, it is not a good matchup as -- led by Joey Votto -- the Reds were quietly top-10 in wOBA against right-handed pitching last season. Moreover, while he did escape his first start undamaged in the ERA department, the peripherals indicate that Williams' season could not have gone off more poorly.

The usual barometer of a pitcher who has good command of the strike zone is a ratio of three strikeouts per every walk. But somehow in his first start, Williams managed to record just one strikeout while walking five batters. This was against the Detroit Tigers, so it wasn't exactly a scary matchup. If not for a very fortunate .000 batting average on balls in play (BABIP), Williams likely would have gotten shelled.

Expect his luck to turn around in a sneakily tough matchup.
