Logan Forsythe's extreme platoon splits leave his overall production (and, in turn, his price tag) quite low. This means that when he draws a matchup against a left-handed pitcher -- like he does tonight against Sean Manaea and the Oakland Athletics -- he tends to be grossly under-priced.
Forsythe only managed a .307 wOBA in 2017, but in his 153 plate appearances against left-handed pitching, that mark jumps all the way up to .381. At the same time, he posted a big 42.1% hard-hit rate in his efforts against lefties.
Manaea is off to a great start to the season, but since the start of the 2018 campaign he has allowed a .333 wOBA and 4.51 xFIP on a 36.9% hard-hit rate to right-handed bats. That's more than enough to put Forsythe firmly in play at his minimal cost.
