Since the 2016 season, Robinson Chirinos has absolutely mashed southpaws. Over 121 plate appearances, he possesses a 40.8% hard-hit rate, 11.8% soft-hit rate and 46.1% fly-ball rate, which has translated to a .406 wOBA and .275 ISO.
The Texas Rangers only have a 4.16 implied total at home tonight, which doesn't inspire much confidence for the offense as a whole, but this is still a solid spot for Chirinos.
The Los Angeles Angels will start southpaw Tyler Skaggs. His being a lefty is obviously big for Chirinos' fantasy value, and he's coming off a 2017 season that saw him allow some solid contact to right-handed bats, with a 35.2% hard-hit rate against. For only $200 more than the minimum, Chirinos' power gives him a ton of upside here.
