Marcus Stroman has had a rough start to the season, allowing 9 earned runs, 8 walks in addition to a 33.3% hard-hit rate over 9 2/3 innings and 2 starts. His 4.48 SIERA indicates that he hasn't been quite as bad as that production makes it seem, but is still not an encouraging mark.
Going up against Stroman tonight, Cleveland boasts a solid 4.71 implied total. That's not on the elite level of a Boston or Houston, but it's enough to put their offense in a promising spot.
Michael Brantley's platoon splits tend to leave him under-priced against right-handed pitching. Taking on southpaws in 2017, he only managed a .302 wOBA. Against righties, though, he notched a .362 wOBA and .177 ISO on a 39.4% hard-hit rate. He's priced well below what you'd expect for a guy with those numbers overall, and drawing a matchup with a righty tonight leaves him offering solid value.
