Price: $2,400
You're going to notice a heavy dose of the Milwaukee Brewers in this piece today, and that's because they have the highest implied total on Thursday's main slate (5.14), but six of their nine projected starters are priced under $3,000.
Miami Marlins southpaw Dillon Peters has struggled to the tune of a 5.34 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) over his first three starts this season, and while that is a small sample-size, it brings his SIERA over nine career big-league games to 5.05. He has allowed at least 5 runs in a third of his starts in the majors, and he's giving up a hard-hit rate north of 38.0% to open 2018.
Jesus Aguilar has had a terrific start to 2018, and while the sample size has been small, his numbers remain impressive if we expand our view back to the start of the 2017 season. In that time, he has notched a .356 wOBA and .228 isolated slugging (ISO) on a huge 44.7% hard-hit rate. Against lefties in 2017, he put up a .372 wOBA with a 53.5% hard-hit rate.
Surrounded by what should be a productive offense in a great matchup, Aguilar is one of the slate's best value plays.
