You're not going to find more upside on tonight's slate than you are in the Colorado Rockies' offense at home at Coors. They draw a plus matchup with San Diego Padres righty Bryan Mitchell, and Colorado's 5.81 implied total is the day's highest by a big margin.
Mitchell is coming off a weak 2017 campaign that saw him post a 4.81 SIERA, and his awful 7.04 SIERA to open 2018 doesn't inspire any optimism. He has a massive 18.3% walk rate with only a 7.3% strikeout rate this season, and he has been tagged for a 42.6% hard-hit rate.
Charlie Blackmon is deadly even against good right-handed pitchers at home. He has made 474 plate appearances against righties at Coors since the start of the 2016 season, and he has turned a 42.4% hard-hit rate and 40.7% fly-ball rate into a .442 wOBA and massive .313 isolated slugging (ISO) in that sample.
Combining that with a great matchup is a recipe for a massive ceiling.
