3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 4/23/18
Jake Odorizzi has a daunting matchup in Yankee Stadium on Monday, which makes him a terrifying DFS play. Which other players should you avoid?

Chris Stratton, SP, San Francisco Giants

FanDuel Price: $6,900

It may be tempting to be contrarian and pay down at pitcher with Chris Stratton, especially at his nice price tag. However, even in an effort to have a differentiated lineup in tournaments, there are a couple reasons to shy away from Stratton.

Despite his 2.22 ERA, solid spin rate, and low walk rate, it is tough to say that Stratton is a very good pitcher. His 8.8% swinging-strike rate is very mediocre, and a pitcher who has allowed a 39.1% fly-ball rate and 36.9% hard-hit rate is difficult to trust.

Throw in the matchup against Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals, and it gets worse. Washington ranks in the top 10 in wOBA and wRC+ against right-handed pitching, This is thanks in large part due to excellent plate discipline, one of the stats we can expect to stabilize relatively quickly into the season, as the Nationals rank second in walk-to-strikeout ratio as a lineup against right-handed pitching.

All in all, Stratton is tough to stomach tonight.
