Jackie Bradley has had a tough go of things in 2018. When he hasn't been wallowing on the disabled list, he's been either coming up short in the batter's box or straight up riding the bench.
But there is some indication that his poor .165/.267/.252 triple slash might not be a fair representation of his actual plate skills. Just look at his slim 13.8% soft-contact rate and respectable 31.0% hard-hit rate. His line-drive rate is comparable with his clip from last year, but his batting average on balls in play is at an unsustainable low of .224.
The struggling lefty could right the ship against some tough but inconsistent right-handed pitching on tap for this week, including Chris Archer, Jacob Faria, Mike Foltynewicz, and Brandon McCarthy. With Bradley's FanDuel salary trending near the minimum, daily players don't have much to lose here if and when Bradley gets slotted near the bottom of that loaded Red Sox's lineup.
