Tabbing lefties against the Mets should be clockwork for streamers until further notice, especially with the already-reeling New York squad taking a major lump with the injury to Yoenis Cespedes. The Mets are simply useless against southpaws from a power production standpoint, with a virtually invisible .088 group ISO on just a 30% hard-contact rate.
Second-year Miami Marlins lefty Caleb Smith has the kind of profile (12.7% walk rate and 38.3% hard contact allowed) that could make this a nail-biter for fantasy owners, but with his first-pitch strikes and overall strikeouts way up, and his FIP trailing his ERA by almost a full run, there's a chance that Smith's skills aren't quite as ugly as his surface numbers indicate. There's no small whiff of upside here, making Smith a worthy streamer in all but the shallowest leagues.
