The St. Louis Cardinals' 4.91 implied total is Monday's second-highest mark, and it comes in a great matchup against Ian Kennedy and the Kansas City Royals.
Kennedy is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him struggle to the tune of a 4.88 SIERA, and while his 4.28 SIERA in 2018 is an improvement, it's still not especially good. He's also still giving up a 40.0% hard-hit rate and 41.1% fly-ball rate, which isn't far off from the 41.7% hard-hit rate and 47.7% fly-ball rate he allowed in 2017.
Marcell Ozuna has had a slow start to 2018, but with his 47.7% hard-hit rate on pace to be a career-high while his 14.4% soft-hit rate is his lowest since his 2014 season, his slow start isn't much of a concern just yet. The 2017 season saw him throttle righties for a .400 wOBA and .268 ISO, and he has plenty of upside against Kennedy.
