Welington Castillo isn't a superstar against right-handed pitching by any stretch, but he has proven himself to be more than capable in righty-righty matchups.
He has opened 2018 with a .331 wOBA on a 36.7% hard-hit rate against righties, which is in line with the .325 wOBA and 37.4% hard-hit rate he posted in 2017. He has also shown plenty of pop in that stretch, with a .207 isolated slugging (ISO) over 342 plate appearances.
He brings that into a plus-matchup tonight against Baltimore Orioles righty Andrew Cashner. Cashner hasn't posted a SIERA better than 4.70 since 2015, and his 4.59 xFIP against right-handed bats over the last three seasons does nothing to make this a worrying matchup for Castillo.
