3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/1/18
Tyler Chatwood is walking more batters than he's striking out, and faces an underrated Mets offense. Which other players should you steer clear of on Friday?

Mike Foltynewicz, SP, Atlanta Braves

FanDuel Price: $8,600

Mike Foltynewicz has been a key part of the Atlanta Braves' resurgence in 2018. He has pitched to a 2.55 ERA, but he may be benefiting from some good luck. His 8.8% swinging-strike rate is nothing special, he has an 11.4% walk rate, and he is surrendering a 33.5% hard-hit rate. So, his 3.97 SIERA paints a more accurate picture of his pitching so far this season.

With ERA regression looming, Foltynewicz will prepare for the Washington Nationals, a top-10 offense, in terms of wRC+, against right-handed pitching. The Nationals are so good against right-handed pitching because of their plate discipline. Against it, they have the fourth-lowest strikeout rate (19.8%) and second-highest walk rate (10.3%) in baseball.

Facing a lineup with that kind of strikeout-to-walk ratio is a tall task for anyone. For a pitcher with an elevated walk rate and a low swinging-strike rate, Foltynewicz is an easy fade at this price tag.
