Against right-handed pitching this season, he has a massive 51.9% hard-hit rate with only a 6.0% soft-hit rate, which has translated to a gaudy .448 wOBA and .391 ISO. That makes tonight's matchup with Tigers righty Artie Lewicki a dreamy spot as long as Martinez is in the lineup, something that's not a given after he exited early in his last game.

Lewicki has pitched in only 10 Major League games over his first two seasons, and his 4.77 SIERA is not an encouraging mark. It's a small sample, but he's allowing a 37.4% hard-hit and 39.6% fly-ball rate with only a 12.1% soft-hit rate, and Martinez's power gives him massive upside in this one.
