FanDuel Price: $2,900
Nick Castellanos is the cheapest he has been in recent weeks, so there's a chance he sees some elevated ownership. I'm here to tell you to look in a different direction, even if you are getting him at a bargain-bin price.
For starters, even though he's hitting the ball well, a .402 batting average on balls in play (BABIP) is beyond unsustainable and will likely fall, hutring his batting average as the season unfolds. Castellanos has also struggled against right-handed pitching in his career, posting just a 101 wRC+ and 24.1% strikeout rate against them.
The right-handed pitcher Castellanos faces tonight? Jose Berrios, who has a 3.30 SIERA in what looks like a breakout 2018 campaign. The youngster has been stellar against right-handed hitters in his career, holding them to just a .304 wOBA. This includes a 23.7% strikeout rate and just a 28.0% hard-hit rate. Castellanos is a guy to steer clear of against Berrios.
