FanDuel Price: $3,600
Jed Lowrie is having a career year, as his 9 home runs through fewer than 65 games has him on pace to shatter his career high of 16. The story is in the batted-ball profile: a 41.5% fly-ball rate and 40.0% hard-hit rate.
But all of that is more than reflected in his price, which isn't cheap. However, it doesn't appear to be fully factoring in Lowrie's career 101 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, which is essentially average. And Lowrie isn't facing your average right-handed pitcher tonight.
Gerrit Cole has held left-handed hitters to a .306 wOBA in his career. He has been even better in his debut season as a member of the Houston Astros, holding left-handed hitters to a .247 wOBA in 2018. This includes an absolutely ridiculous 43.4% strikeout rate, so you can understand why, despite a good season, Lowrie is an easy fade at this price.
