Another seemingly over-the-hill starter who could be of use to streamers this week is Seattle Mariners righty Felix Hernandez. Of course, King Felix hasn't shown nearly the perseverance of Sabathia in 2018, with the erstwhile fantasy ace hobbling to 5.14 ERA and 4.49 FIP over 89.1 frames, confirming the steep decline that's been hinted at in his last two campaigns.
Still, Hernandez is lined up for a soft two-start slate in Week 13, squaring off against Kansas City and Baltimore squads that have struggled to produce over the last month.
Visiting the hitter haven at Camden Yards might seem like a tough assignment, but Baltimore hasn't exactly been exploiting its tiny home park of late, squeaking out an unremarkable .118 group ISO at home since the end of May. And while Kansas City's 42.8% hard-hit rate against righties over that same span could signal imminent regression on their paltry .127 group ISO, their low liner rate and high infield-fly rate suggests that their hard contact hasn't all been quality contact.
All in all, Hernandez may be a high-variance play, but he certainly has the capacity to post quality innings for needy streamers in Week 13.
