Kyle Gibson has been a punching bag in fantasy circles and on the diamond for the better part of the last two seasons, so it makes sense that his ownership in 2018 has lagged even as his recent results have been fairly noteworthy. The Minnesota Twins' righty has tallied a 3.25 ERA and solid 3.90 FIP in 88.2 innings this year, on the back of both an incredible jump in strikeout rate (23.3%, compared to a career 16.8% clip) and a rather suspicious .254 batting average on balls in play (BABIP).
Slight regression might be coming for Gibson, but it's unlikely to take hold against a White Sox team that has been straight-up miserable against righties over the last month, striking out at a 27.0% team clip while mustering just a 27.8% group hard-contact rate when they do put bat on ball.
Adding Gibson isn't the sexiest long-term play, but for Week 13 he carries a fair amount of upside.
