Frankly, you should never really buy any Baltimore Orioles pitcher. It's just the safe play.
Dylan Bundy has always had tantalizing stuff, and every now and then, for a few stretches, seems like he's going to put it all together. It is during those times you should look to move him. Now is one of those times.
On the season, he has an ERA of 4.08 and FIP of 4.39. He's striking out 9.97 batters per nine, better than his career average of 8.66, and has a strikeout rate of 26.3%, up from 21.8% last year. Bundy had a great April (2.97 ERA), lousy May (6.12) and outstanding June (1.98). After coming off the disabled list earlier in the week, Bundy had a rough first outing in July, giving up five earned runs in 3.1 innings, striking out just two.
If the pattern holds, July might not be kind to Bundy, who has been up-and-down his whole career. Now's the time to deal him for someone a little more consistent.
