The Chicago Cubs have gotten everything they could have asked for out of Jon Lester after signing him to a big free-agent deal before the 2015 season. And judging by the traditional numbers so far this year, he's still going strong.
He's 11-2 and has pitched 106.1 innings to a 2.45 ERA. On those numbers alone, you should be able to get something pretty valuable for him if you decide to move him, and here's why you should.
Lester is not striking out guys, just 6.86 batters per nine for a strikeout rate of 18.6%. As a result, his FIP of 4.28 and xFIP of 4.57 indicate he's been pretty fortunate to have an ERA as low as he does. The same goes for his BABIP of .247, which far below the league average of .291.
Deal Lester now and maximize his solid first half.
