Brad Miller hasn't been anything special this year, but he does pair his competent .327 wOBA with a solid .176 ISO, and his 44.1% hard-hit rate and 42.2% fly-ball rate are both on pace to be career-highs. And his16.9% soft-hit rate is a career-low.
His production also jumps if we just look at his splits -- a .335 wOBA and .182 ISO -- against right-handed pitching, which come on a 46.7% hard-hit rate.
Tonight, he's up against right-hander Dan Straily and the Miami Marlins, and Straily isn't likely to limit Miller's power potential. Straily is forcing the lowest soft-hit rate of his career (12.3%) while getting tagged for a career-high hard-hit rate (45.1%), [pushing his xFIP to an ugly 4.98 while allowing a .357 wOBA to left-handed bats.
