Willson Contreras has seen his production drop off slightly from where it was in his first two Major League seasons, but his .355 wOBA and .174 ISO are both more than solid marks. He has been particularly good against southpaws this year, with his wOBA jumping to .385 and his ISO to .243.
Those numbers make him easy to like at this point in tonight's matchup with Clayton Richard and the San Diego Padres.
Richard has opened 2018 with a 4.19 SIERA, putting him on pace for his third straight season with a 4.06 or worse. In particular, right-handed bats have tagged him for a 4.16 xFIP on a hefty 43.8% hard-hit rate.
