Jake Lamb's production is way down this year, but he is still making some terrific contact against right-handed pitching. Over 169 plate appearances, he has rocked righties for a 45.4% hard-hit and 33.3% fly-ball rate.
Those numbers aren't far off from his 37.4% hard-hit and 41.3% fly-ball rate in 2017, which translated to a .386 wOBA and .270 ISO. Those marks were right in line with his 2016 production as well.
Today, he draws a great opportunity to turn that contact into production, taking on Colorado Rockies righty German Marquez. Marquez has allowed a .345 wOBA and 4.60 xFIP to left-handed bats, which has come on a solid 32.2% hard-hit and 35.7% fly-ball rate. Lamb's drop in production has his salary down, but this is an ideal matchup for him to get back on track.
