Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 19
Greg Bird continues to frustrate Yankee fans and fantasy owners alike, but his underlying trends show that he could finally be turning the corner.

Greg Bird, 1B, New York Yankees

Greg Bird remains an enigma for New York Yankees fans and fantasy owners alike. With an uninspiring .240/.310/.400 slash line since the start of July, Bird has looked more like the fifth-round afterthought than the surprising stud who rocked an out-of-nowhere .268 ISO during his cup of coffee with the Yanks in 2015.

Yet his recent sample has shown underlying trends that align well with the productive stretch three years back. Bird has logged 22.2% line drives and 45.3% hard contact in his last 116 plate appearances, with improvements in zone contact and overall contact that suggest he's not just up there hacking away.

With a FanDuel salary around $3,000, Bird represents a cheap piece of a potentially explosive Yankees offense, one which draws a number of beatable righties in Week 19.
