The Colorado Rockies are another offense in an interesting spot tonight, as the Los Angeles Angels will be starting relief pitcher Noe Ramirez, who hasn't made a start in his four Major League seasons.
Ramirez has been pitching much better than his 4.69 ERA would lead you to believe this year, with a 3.43 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), but he has also pitched more than 2.0 innings only four times, facing no more than 12 batters in any of his 60 games. This means the Angels will likely go to the bullpen early, and their relievers' 4.28 group xFIP is the eighth-worst mark in the Majors.
David Dahl has shown some big power this season, with a 37.4% hard-hit rate and 35.7% fly-ball rate. His .336 wOBA and .208 ISO are both solid marks, and his contact numbers hold up well on the road (35.6% hard-hit rate, 37.8% fly-ball rate). Dahl's high strikeout rate (26.2%) can make him a boom-or-bust option, but his upside puts him firmly in play.
