Jose Ramirez has been going through a slight fantasy slump lately, averaging 7.8 FanDuel points per game over the last 10, compared to an elite 14.6 per game on the year, which ranks top-five in the Majors.
It's not like he has been swinging the bat poorly in recent games, though, with a 40.0% hard-hit rate in that time, and it looks like variance is playing a big role in his decreased numbers.
Over the season, he ranks fourth in wOBA (.410) and second in ISO (.303) among qualifying hitters, while sitting top-10 in all of home runs, RBI, runs scored and stolen bases.
He draws a plus matchup tonight, with Cleveland boasting one of the day's highest implied totals (5.06) as they go up against Kansas City Royals southpaw Danny Duffy. Duffy has struggled to the tune of a 4.70 SIERA (his worst since 2012) this season, with right-handed hitters cracking him for a .339 wOBA and 5.18 xFIP on a 37.9% hard-hit rate and 44.6% fly-ball rate. Look for Ramirez to get back on track in this one.
