Dee Gordon will never wow you with his bat. His .275 wOBA and .078 ISO for 2018 are more or less what we've seen from him over his entire career (averaging .300 and .074).
Even at 30 years old, he remains a huge threat on the basepaths, though. He has stolen 30 bases in 2018 and doesn't have fewer than that since the 2013 season, when he played only 38 games.
Gordon has plenty of bat-to-ball skills at the plate, with a low 7.7% swinging-strike rate and a 94.1% contact rate when swinging at pitches in the strike zone. Against a pitcher as bad as Jurado, he should have little trouble getting on base -- obviously one of the more important steps in notching a steal.
He's a low-floor play, but his stolen base upside gives him a great ceiling.
numberFire's models have Gordon as one of only four hitters projected for at least 0.20 stolen bases on tonight's main slate.
