3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/4/19
Justin Bour is an inexpensive way to get exposure to the Angels' offense tonight. Is that enough to make him a top value option on Thursday's three-game slate?

Justin Bour, 1B, Los Angeles Angels

Price: $2,900

As we did in looking at the top high-priced players to target for today, we'll start our look at value bats with the Los Angeles Angels and their slate-high implied total (4.52 runs).

The Texas Rangers are starting right-hander Edinson Volquez, who didn't play in 2018 after posting a career-worst 5.19 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) in 2017. 2010 was the last time he finished with a SIERA better than 4.20, and it looks like he's going to be a pitcher to pick on in daily fantasy this year.

Justin Bour is projected to bat third for the Angels today, and getting a cheap bat hitting in the heart of the order for the highest-projected offense on a short slate is already really interesting.

Pushing Bour over the top is how consistently he has made strong contact against right-handed pitching. He's posted a hard-hit rate of at least 40% against righties in each of the last two seasons, and has never had a mark below 34.6% in that split. His 38.5% fly-ball rate against righties last year was also a career-best, and he turned that contact into a solid .349 wOBA and .221 ISO. That came after notching a .384 wOBA and .252 ISO in the split in 2017, so he's a huge threat to take advantage of this matchup with Volquez.
