5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/9/19
There are plenty of great high-priced plays on Tuesday's slate. Can we also find budget-friendly options in the day's top-projected offenses?

Mark Canha, OF, Oakland Athletics

Price: $2,500

The highest implied total for any non-Coors team tonight belongs to the Oakland Athletics. At 4.96 runs, they're projected much closer to those Coors teams than to anyone else on the slate, with the next-highest mark sitting at only 4.51 runs.

The A's up against an unproven pitcher tonight in Baltimore Orioles southpaw John Means, who has pitched just nine major league innings in his four relief appearances.

He gave us a 20-game sample at the Triple-A level last year, though, and what he showed us (3.89 xFIP, 18.8% strikeout rate and 43.3% fly-ball rate) wasn't all that great.

Mark Canha made 411 plate appearance in 2018, posting respectable marks with a .334 wOBA and .200 ISO. That came with a .282 batting average on balls in play (BABIP), which means he was probably getting somewhat unlucky, especially considering his 37.3% hard-hit rate and 40.1% fly-ball rate.

He made good contact in a 163 plate appearance sample against southpaws, with a 41.4% hard-hit rate and 42.2% fly-ball rate, and he offers some serious upside against Means tonight.
