Tyler Wade isn't nearly as promising from the dish as Bird, but he's also priced all the way down at the minimum tonight.
Giolito was especially bad against left-handed bats, getting thrashed for a .361 wOBA and 5.96 xFIP. That's tied for the worst xFIP for any pitcher that faced at least 200 batters last year, and the kind of numbers that can elevate even a poor hitter to passable production.
Wade needs the help, with an awful .209 wOBA over 149 career major league plate appearances. Even in his split against right-handed pitching, he's been brutal from the dish, but he gives you dirt-cheap exposure to the Yankees' upside, while also getting a massive boost from being a left-handed bat against Giolito.
