One of baseball's hottest hitters to start the 2019 season, Yoan Moncada has been ripping the cover off the ball. To keep going, he will have to buck some recent trends he has been sporting.

Tonight, Moncada faces New York Yankees starter J.A. Happ. In 2018, Moncada showcased reverse platoon splits, struggling against southpaws to the tune of a .209 batting average, .262 wOBA, and a 33.9% strikeout rate.

While Happ was better against same-sided bats, he was pretty strong against righties in 2018, limiting them to a .313 wOBA, 26.4% strikeout rate, and 31.4% hard-hit rate. Look for Moncada to have his hands full tonight.
