We’ve mentioned Byung-Ho Park numerous times in previous editions of this column, citing his 100-plus home runs hit in Korea in his last two seasons.
He’s been great in his American debut, smashing 7 home runs so far and posting a .290 ISO. All of those home runs have come versus right-handed pitching, and luckily for us, he faces righty Josh Tomlin tonight.
Tomlin has frauded his way to a 5-0 record and 3.72 ERA so far this season. He doesn’t possess a huge ground ball tilt -- just 39.8 percent -- and he only strikes out 5.90 batters per nine.
He’s allowed a 40.0 percent hard hit rate, yet somehow only 10.8 percent of opposing fly balls have gone over the fence. Last year, he allowed a massive .320 ISO to right-handed batters, so expect that ineptitude to resurface shortly.
Park will be under-owned -- he always is. Don’t miss this opportunity.
