FanDuel Price: $10,900
Cueto is having an excellent inaugural season in San Francisco, posting a 5-1 record and the lowest xFIP of his career at 3.06. When paying this price for a pitcher, you want consistency and upside, and Cueto has shown just that.
He’s pitched seven or more innings in all but one of his starts thus far, an impressive feat for any pitcher. When you add in that he’s struck out eight-plus batters in 50 percent of his starts, you have the making of a stud pitcher.
He’s only allowed a 28.7 percent fly-ball rate to opposing hitters this season, and it’s hard to envision the San Diego Padres putting more than a couple of runs on the board tonight versus Cueto.
Like the Braves on the previous slide, the Padres are miserable on offense. Versus right-handed pitching this season, the Padres have mustered a .128 ISO and .277 wOBA while striking out 25.2 percent of the time.
Cueto is just a -135 favorite, so getting the 12-point win bonus on FanDuel isn’t a certainty. But his consistency and upside make him a stud cash game option.
