FanDuel Price: $2,700
Shortstop is always a great spot to snag a low-priced stick, but that stick doesn't usually come with the upside of Brad Miller. With how he's spanking right-handed pitching this year, his price should not be this low.
There are only four qualified shortstops this season who have hard-hit rates of at least 40.0% against right-handed pitchers. The top two (Manny Machado and Trevor Story) will both cost you $3,900 or higher, and Aledmys Diaz is $3,300. Miller is the other one at 40.0%, and that comes with a 43.1% fly-ball rate. These aren't the marks of a value shortstop but rather a stud. A matchup against R.A. Dickey won't hurt that.
Dickey has a reputation for being tougher on lefties than righties, but that hasn't been the case this year. Dickey has faced 90 lefties so far, and he sports only a 17.8% strikeout rate with an 11.1% walk rate. When they make contact, the ball is going far with a fly-ball rate of 39.7% and a hard-hit rate of 32.8%. Add all of that onto what Miller has done this season, his quality spot in the order, and a great park for hitters, and it's easy to see why this young pup is worthy of a look today.
