4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/18/16
Brad Miller has been swinging a hot stick against right-handed pitchers, and that'll come in handy against R.A. Dickey and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Tyler White, 1B, Houston Astros

FanDuel Price: $2,400

Tyler White appears as if he's returning to favor with the Houston Astros, and that's good news for lovers of value. White hit fifth the last time the Astros faced a righty, and as long as he's got a spot in the order again today, he's got a great matchup against Chicago White Sox starter Mat Latos.

Latos' 3.40 ERA wouldn't show it, but he has truly not been good this season. He holds a 5.50 SIERA, the second-worst in the league among qualified starters, and his strikeout rate has plummeted to 11.2%. That low strikeout total is backed up by an abysmal 85.9% contact rate, helping to alleviate concerns with White and the other Astros striking out.

White went through a brutal stretch starting April 21st in which he went 40 plate appearances without an extra-base hit. Even when we narrow the scope to the start of that stretch until now, White still holds an 18.8% soft-hit rate with a 35.4% fly-ball rate. This seems to be why the Astros are showing faith in White again, and we should start to do the same.

If White's not in the order (a complete possibility now that the Astros have called up Colin Moran), then Luis Valbuena is also a quality option. Either way, there figures to be value in this lineup today, even if it doesn't necessarily come from White.
