FanDuel Price: $3,300
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Another day, another loaded outfield player pool. There are plenty of appealing options from the Rockies, Reds and Red Sox today, while I'd expect George Springer and Franklin Gutierrez to be popular options as well. In the end, Jayson Werth will be one of many outfielders that get lost in the shuffle and see far too low of ownership to reflect their upside.
Why You Should Use Him:
Werth is starting to heat up, hitting safely in three straight, with two home runs and 57.6 FanDuel points. The Nationals get a matchup against left-hander Adam Morgan, who has been crushed by right-handed pitching in his career. In his career, righties have posted a .356 wOBA and .509 slugging percentage against him. Through six starts this season, his ERA sits at a putrid 6.67.
Stacking right-handers against Morgan is a nice contrarian tournament play for sure, but if you're going to play just one, Werth is your best bet. Werth has much better numbers against lefties throughout his career and should be hitting out of the two-hole once again.
Werth is worth a look in all formats tonight at such a cheap price tag.
