FanDuel Price: $8,300
With Tyler Glasnow and Jameson Taillon doing big things at Triple-A, Juan Nicasio may ultimately wind up in the bullpen, but he’s given Pittsburgh solid production as a back-end starter early on this year. His 4.01 SIERA isn't that great, but he’s shown the ability to rack up strikeouts, posting a 23.2% strikeout rate.
That kind of strikeout ability is always going to be attractive in DFS, especially on a lighter slate like today. Nicasio will take on the Miami Marlins today in a road start at Marlins Park. Surprisingly, even with Giancarlo Stanton in the midst of a slump and Christian Yelich missing some time, the Marlins have had one of the better offenses in the National League. Miami has struggled some at home, though, posting just a .705 OPS, the 21st-ranked mark, in home games.
Nicasio is our second-ranked hurler as we project him to allow 2.28 earned runs on 5.36 hits while fanning 4.82 hitters over 5.67 frames.
