FanDuel Price: $10,600
The last couple of performances for Noah Syndergaard have been unusual, with the most recent being a one-inning relief appearance against the White Sox on Tuesday. After being ejected in the third inning of his previous start, Syndergaard needed the extra work after throwing just 34 pitches versus the Dodgers. Despite the unusual pitching schedule, his pitch count shouldn’t be affected in tonight’s outing.
He’s been filthy so far this season, posting an 11.45 strikeouts per nine innings mark with a 14.6 percent swinging strike rate. He’s walked just 1.27 batters per nine innings, a major contributor to his 1.98 xFIP. When hitters do get the bat on the ball, they’re not doing much with it -- he’s holding them to a 57 percent ground ball rate.
His upside is evident -- he has struck out eight-plus batters in six of his nine starts -- and that’s including his shortened outing against the Dodgers. He’ll face the Marlins tonight, who have struggled against righties with a .138 ISO (24th in the league).
As a -175 favorite, Syndergaard is one of the top pitching options on the slate.
