Probable Starts:
Tuesday 6/21 at the Detroit Tigers
Sunday 6/26 against the St. Louis Cardinals
Our own Joseph Nammour put together a great piece on James Paxton's increase in velocity and effectiveness. The former top prospect is enjoying a post-hype breakout, posting a 2.86 ERA with a terrific 29% strikeout rate in his four starts since returning to the rotation.
He will look to keep the good times rolling in a two-start week against Detroit and St.Louis. The Tigers rank 10th in wOBA against left-handers, but St. Louis ranks just 23rd. Both teams have a strikeout rate above 21%, too.
If you are in one of the 68.8% of leagues in which Paxton is still available, give him some serious consideration. The former prospect is really pitching well right now and might be ready to finally live up to the hype.
