Brandon Belt is one of the few left-handed hitters in the game with no discernible splits, and he is having one heck of a year.
Split | Plate Appearances | wOBA | Home Runs |
---|---|---|---|
vs. LHP | 101 | .390 | 4 |
vs. RHP | 217 | .391 | 6 |
He's been red-hot in June, mashing to the tune of a .409 wOBA and .284 ISO this month. Belt has also had more success away from home. He boasts a .433 wOBA on the road, compared to a .346 wOBA at AT&T Park.
That bodes well for tonight's road matchup with the Oakland Athletics, who are starting lefty Dillon Overton.
In his MLB debut last week, Overton allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks while fanning 3 over 5 2/3 innings against the Los Angeles Angels. He started the year by posting a 3.18 FIP in 83 2/3 innings at Triple-A.
