FanDuel Price: $2,600
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Addison Russell seems way too cheap to go overlooked, but with Chicago possessing the 19th-highest implied team total tonight, he could definitely become an afterthought for daily fantasy players during roster construction.
Why You Should Use Him:
Russell may not have deserved to be the starting shortstop for the National League All-Star team, but he sure has looked the part recently. He has three homers and seven RBI over his past five games, a span during which he has averaged 18.9 FanDuel points.
He'll look to remain hot in tonight's righty-lefty matchup against Francisco Liriano. Liriano has really struggled recently, and his season ERA is now up to 5.34. Over his last seven starts, he has a 6.88 ERA, 1.90 WHIP, and 33-to-25 strikeout-to-walk rate. His poor performance has been magnified against right-handed batters, whom he has a 5.09 xFIP against.
If Liriano struggles again tonight, Russell should play a role in it. He's worth a long look in tournaments at such a cheap price tag.
